Older dogs are most prone to arthritis and
that’s the sad fact. Arthritis in dogs is very similar to arthritis in humans.
And there are no absolute cures yet.

The only thing that you can
do for now is to manage the disease and make your dog feel comfortable despite
its condition.

Old or young dogs with
arthritis can still live a normal life if owners just give them what they need
to ease the pain. For starters, your dog is going to need comfortable bedding.
Arthritis is a joint and muscle condition that could really be crippling. The
most you can do is give your pet soft beddings, ideally a rubber foam mattress
that is about five inches thick.

Food intolerances, defined as a dog inability to digest a
certain kind of dog food, are far more common in dogs than food allergies.
Compare dog food intolerances to allergies: only 10% to 12% of the canine
population has allergies while up to 50% could suffer from an intolerance.
Nearly half of all dogs are unable to stomach a certain kind of food and could
become sick within half an hour of consuming it.

I am the proud mommy of 5 furry pets. After the recent pet food poisoning scare I decided to do some research. I was absolutely horrified to find out I was poisoning my dogs. Many pet foods claim to be “100% nutritionally complete and balanced. This claim legally can be made and printed on commercial products based on information studies using isolated nutrients and not whole foods.

These tests ignore important nutritional issues and give consumers a false sense of knowledge and security. There are more than forty known, essential nutrients… thus, making sure a food contains appropriate amounts of only a dozen of these nutrients can’t possibly assure that a food is complete.
